Eastern New Mexico University has announced the hiring of Shali Sheridan as assistant athletic director for student success in its athletics department.

Sheridan expressed enthusiasm about her new position. "I'm really excited about this role and the opportunity to support our student-athletes," Sheridan said. "As a former student-athlete, I understand the commitment it takes to do well on and off the court. I am looking forward to enhancing the student-athlete experience at Eastern New Mexico University."

Before joining Eastern New Mexico, Sheridan worked as a student success advisor at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, focusing on graduate and adult education students. She also served as a student services intern for Vanderbilt Athletics during 2023-24, where she provided academic support to student-athletes and collaborated with coaches on building class schedules.

Sheridan's background includes experience with professional sports organizations. She was a stadium operations assistant for the Tennessee Titans, handling game day logistics and coordinating events. In 2022, she was director of operations for Belmont University's women's soccer program, where she organized team travel itineraries and managed team functions.

Earlier in her career, Sheridan worked as a sports information graduate assistant at Dickinson State University in North Dakota. Her responsibilities included running video streaming and conducting post-game interviews with athletes and coaches.

Sheridan began her involvement in higher education while pursuing an associate's degree at Williston State College in North Dakota, where she tutored students in math, science, and writing.

As a basketball player at both Williston State and Dickinson State, Sheridan earned NJCAA academic all-American honors in 2018.

Originally from Faith, South Dakota, Sheridan has previous ties to New Mexico from spending part of her childhood there. She started her new role at Eastern New Mexico University on July 28.
