The New Mexico State Bar Foundation's Immediate Past-President, Hon. Carl J. Butkus, has been elected to the National Conference of Bar Foundations' Board of Directors. The announcement was made during the National Conference of Bar Foundations' Annual Meeting held from July 25 to 27 in Chicago, Illinois.

The National Conference of Bar Foundations (NCBF) supports various bar foundations by promoting their role in law-related philanthropy within the organized bar, the broader legal community, and the philanthropic sector. NCBF also serves as a resource to help bar foundations fulfill their charitable missions.

Hon. Butkus practiced law for many years before being appointed District Judge in the Second Judicial District of New Mexico in 2005. He retired at the end of 2020 and has since played a central role with the New Mexico State Bar Foundation, contributing significantly to the state and its residents.
