The Branigan Cultural Center is pleased to announce that it will offer a Death Café series during the month of October.

The Death Cafés are scheduled for every Wednesday in October from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The exact dates are October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2024. The conversations will be guided by MaryKay Brady, a death doula.

Death Cafés provide an engaging public forum for people to gather and discuss their thoughts on mortality, death, and dying in a safe space. Participants can determine the course of the conversation with input from the Death Café guide. However, it should be noted that Death Cafés are not bereavement support groups or grief counseling sessions.

The Death Cafés are free and open to the public but are geared towards individuals aged 18 years and older. Reservations are not required to attend.

The museum is located at 491 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. There is no admission fee. The museum is accessible from Roadrunner Transit Route 1 Stop 1.
