The City of Las Cruces is inviting residents to share their vision for University Avenue through a corridor study spanning from I-10 to I-25. The city has provided an interactive map for public comments and a survey to gather feedback.

A multi-day workshop will be held to envision the future of the El Paseo and S. Solano MRA area, exploring various design options. Additionally, the Housing & Neighborhood Services section has prepared a report on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) activities.

High school students interested in learning about city operations are encouraged to participate in programs designed to explain how different departments impact daily life. A public comment session titled "Realize Las Cruces" is scheduled for September 10, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the East Mesa Public Safety Complex.

The City of Las Cruces, in collaboration with the United Way of Southwest New Mexico, is offering financial literacy workshops covering budgeting and other financial skills.

Furthermore, the OIR Group, hired by the city in 2021 to audit the police department, will host a community outreach meeting on August 26, 2024.

Community Engagement is also facilitating a program aimed at high school students to educate them about local government functions and available resources that enhance community life.
