Cuarenta y Cinco, one of New Mexico’s top groups since 1991, will be featured along with Angelica Padilla and Illusion Band during the Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Community Concert to be held on Aug. 24.

The Summer Community Concert will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St. in Downtown Las Cruces. The concert is a free family event.

Cuarenta y Cinco is known for its upbeat music and traditional sound of New Mexico. Known for its high-energy dance music, Cuarenta y Cinco has long been popular in northern New Mexico and throughout the southwest. The band performs a blend of rancheras, cumbias, balses, boleros, country/western, oldies, and modern rock.

The band's ability to transition from hardcore rancheras to country to rock is what makes them one of New Mexico’s best-known variety bands. Their eight albums have received significant airplay over the years, contributing to their enduring presence and loyal fan base in New Mexico.

Food trucks will be available on-site for this event.

This free community concert is part of the City’s live music season, highlighted by the Parks and Recreation Department’s Music in the Park Series. For more information call the Parks and Recreation Department at (575) 541-2550.
