Mayor Tim Keller, City of Albuquerque | City of Albuquerque
As summer break concludes, the City of Albuquerque is offering resources to assist families in preparing for the upcoming school year. Several city departments have collaborated to provide backpacks, school supplies, and programs aimed at ensuring students have what they need for a successful academic year.
"Whether kids need backpacks, school supplies or a place to go after school, the City is ready to provide those necessary resources to families as they map out the new school year," stated Mayor Tim Keller. "Liz and I know how busy back-to-school season is, and for families who don’t have access to the supplies they need, we know it can be even more stressful."
The following events and programs are available:
**Resources Before School Starts:**
- **Cruzin Into The School Year:** Scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd from 10 am to 1 pm. Pre-registration is required and currently open. The Youth & Family Services (YFS) Department will distribute 3,000 backpacks and school supplies at Mesa Verde and West Mesa Community Centers.
