ABQ BioPark Concerts return to the Zoo and Botanic Garden, promising an experience that combines the beauty of nature with the power of music. This year's lineup includes a range of musical genres from boleros to blues and reggae to R&B, catering to diverse musical tastes. Tickets for Zoo Music and Garden Music, featuring national touring acts and local favorites respectively, are on sale now at www.abqtickets.com.
Zoo Music begins on Friday, June 7 from 6-8:30 p.m. with Latin pop from Grupo Bella. "Grupo Bella is rooted in Mexican tradition, resilience, and hope," stated event organizers. Future Zoo Music concerts include:
- June 21: Clay Street Unit (southern country/bluegrass)
- July 12: Paul McDonald & the Mourning Doves (rock/blues)
- July 26: Blair Crimmins & The Hookers (ragtime jazz/rock)
All events run from 6-8:30 p.m., coinciding with one of the more active times for animals at dusk. Animal exhibits, excluding Penguin Chill, will be open during Zoo Music. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Cottonwood Café, along with alcoholic beverages for those aged 21 and over.
Tickets range from $9-18, with New Mexico BioPark Society Members receiving a 50% discount.
Garden Music starts on Thursday, June 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. with Reviva, known for their energetic live performances blending reggae, rock, and Latin dance music since forming in 2009. Other Garden Music concerts include:
- June 27: Tracey Whitney (jazz/R&B)
- July 18: Calle 66 (contemporary salsa)
- August 1: Chris Dracup: Funk of the West (American funk/blues)
These events also run from 6 to 8:30 p.m., offering food and drinks for purchase at Shark Reef Cafe and various bars serving adult beverages to those with valid ID. The Aquarium, Heritage Farm, and BUGarium will not be open during Garden Music.
Garden Music tickets are priced between $7.50-$15, with a similar discount for New Mexico BioPark Society Members.
Guests are welcome to bring chairs, coolers, and picnics but should note that glass containers, alcohol, sports equipment tents or canopies are prohibited. Pets are not allowed at ABQ BioPark.
