Santa Fe County Water Policy Advisory Committee Seeks Members

The Santa Fe County Water Policy Advisory Committee (WPAC) is actively seeking County residents to join its ranks, as reported on April 5, 2024. The committee plays a crucial role in advising the Board of County Commissioners on various water-related issues in the County and region.

According to the announcement, the WPAC is looking for individuals with a diverse range of expertise and experience to ensure a well-rounded representation. As stated by the County, the committee's primary responsibilities include providing recommendations on sustainable utility services, domestic water supply and conservation, wastewater management and reclamation, irrigation, drought management, flood prevention and control, and water reuse.

Members selected for the WPAC will serve a three-year term and can expect to participate in multiple meetings per month to fulfill the committee's work plan. Interested County residents are encouraged to submit letters of interest and resumes outlining their qualifications and explaining their interest in contributing to the WPAC's designated focus areas.

Preference will be given to candidates who are affiliated with specific areas or organizations related to water systems, agricultural organizations, acequia associations, and various planning areas within the County. The application deadline for those interested in joining the WPAC is Friday, April 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
