Free Professional Readiness Training Offered by SFCC to Boost Careers

SANTA FE, NM – Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) in collaboration with the New Mexico Department of Workforce Connections is providing an opportunity for individuals to enhance their careers through the Professional Readiness and Technical Experience for Careers (PROTEC) 21st Century Skills Training program.

Applications for the program are now open, with a deadline set for May 1, 2024. Successful applicants will have the chance to earn MicroCredentials in Google, Microsoft, and Apple applications. According to SFCC, the program will kick off on June 4 and will include classroom training until June 18 at the Santa Fe Higher Education Center.

Participants in the program will have hands-on experience working with cloud-based technology, including artificial intelligence, to improve workplace collaboration, communication, and productivity. The program aims to equip students with essential skills to thrive in the modern workplace.

The PROTEC badge, earned upon completion of the program, will demonstrate proficiency in various software applications, customer service, and social media tools. Moreover, participants will receive guidance on updating their resumes and creating professional LinkedIn profiles. Classes will be conducted by experienced business technology professionals.

To be eligible for the program, students must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. The initiative is tailored for individuals seeking to enhance their employability, particularly those who are currently unemployed or underemployed in New Mexico.
