The New Mexico Mission of Mercy (NM MOM) is seeking patients for the state’s largest charity event, April 26-27, 2024, in Santa Fe. "Dental volunteers will provide basic care such as fillings, extractions, cleanings, and limited root canals. All patients will receive preventive dental education and instructions on how to properly maintain their oral health," said a spokesperson for NM MOM.

The event, hosted at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, aims to treat those in need of free, first-come, first-served basic care. Patients do not need to make appointments, as all walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 5:15AM. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The New Mexico Mission of Mercy is a program of the New Mexico Dental Association Foundation in partnership with the New Mexico Dental Association. Major sponsorship is provided by the City of Santa Fe and United Concordia Dental. In the previous Santa Fe event in 2016, 1200 volunteers served over 1200 patients, providing $1.6 million in donated treatment.

NM MOM has a history of impactful events, with over 11,000 new smiles created for patients, resulting in $9 million in donated treatment. "11,000 professionals and community volunteers have donated their time and skills at events in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Farmington, Rio Rancho, and Santa Fe," the organization stated.
