New Mexico State University (NMSU) has announced its intention to host Research and Creativity Week, a series of public events, some of which require registration.

The university's Research and Creativity Week is set to take place from February 26 to March 1. The event will kick off with an opening keynote speech by El Paso-born artist Celia Álvarez Muñoz, followed by a reception at the University Art Museum. According to an NMSU press release, the event will feature student presentations, poster sessions, research workshops, and performances that highlight musical and creative writing talents.

Workshops during the week will be facilitated by experts such as H. Justin Ballenger and Enrico Pontelli. Discussions will be moderated by NMSU leaders Teresa Maria "Linda" Scholz and Alan Shoho. The NMSU William Conroy Honors College is also set to host a bilingual poetry reading featuring undergraduate poets and Rodrigo Figueroa, an assistant professor of Spanish literature at NMSU.

Luis Cifuentes, NMSU Vice President of Research, Creativity and Economic Development said: "Research and Creativity Week is an opportunity for the campus to come together to support students, staff and faculty as they showcase their works and contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of RCW."

Marshall Taylor, Chair of the NMSU University Research Council and Assistant Professor of Sociology added: "Although the format this year is pretty much the same, RCW grows every year as we learn what works. The community is certainly encouraged to participate. We see this as an opportunity to showcase and celebrate all the cool research and creativity that happens on campus."

NMSU is a research-focused land-grant university that emphasizes teaching, research, and public service. It holds the distinction of being a NASA Space-Grant College and houses New Mexico's first Honors College.
