Nusenda Credit Union has recently announced its partnership with the UNM Children’s Hospital and Jardin de los Niños for a two-week toy drive. The credit union's members and employees have contributed toys and funds, amassing a collection of over 1,500 toys this year.

From November 20 to December 8, Nusenda branches collected new toys for children. According to a press release by Nusenda, the UNM Children’s Hospital, the only Children’s Miracle Network hospital in New Mexico, provides advanced pediatric care to more than 60,000 children annually. Furthermore, Jardin de los Niños in Las Cruces functions as a Trauma-Informed Care Center, offering education and comprehensive services to homeless and near-homeless children aged six weeks to 10 years and their families.

"Every year, our members and staff demonstrate their commitment to local communities through volunteerism and other impactful initiatives like our school supply drive, book drive, and coat drive," said Joe Christian, President and CEO of Nusenda. "We are grateful for the outpouring of toy donations this year and hope they can bring comfort to families and deliver a little joy to children with health challenges."

"Nusenda has been a huge supporter of UNM Hospital for many years," said Lauren Kenig, Program Director at UNM Children’s Hospital. "Thank you to the employees and members for bringing together the whole community to make this toy drive and distribution possible. The joy that you spread will reach the entire state."

"Thank you to Nusenda and the NMSU Center for Financial Capability for supporting our Adopt-A-Family Program," said Dr. Michelle Adames, CEO of Jardin de los Niños. "Together we are igniting hope, elevating our community, and helping children and families flourish."

Nusenda Credit Union prioritizes its members' financial well-being along with the welfare of New Mexico communities. It achieves this through affordable products, friendly service, community engagement, and financial education. Unlike banks, Nusenda operates as a not-for-profit credit union and returns earnings to members through favorable rates, according to the About webpage provided by Nusenda.
