Albuquerque Public Schools recently announced that three of its magnet schools have achieved national certification, recognizing them as outstanding learning environments and examples of magnet school excellence. Coronado Dual Language Magnet School, Garfield STEM Magnet, and Nex+Gen Academy have all received national certification from Magnet Schools of America, according to a press release.
Coronado Dual Language Magnet School and Garfield STEM Magnet School have earned the prestigious Certified-Demonstration status, surpassing the Standards of Excellence criteria and setting an exceptional example for magnet schools across the country. This recognition is highly esteemed, with only 245 schools receiving this designation since the program's inception in 2016. Magnet Schools of America, a nonprofit organization, represents over 4,300 magnet schools throughout the United States.
Superintendent Scott Elder expressed his pride in these schools, stating, "We're proud of Coronado, Garfield, and Nex+Gen Academy for attaining this status and for the innovative way they engage their students."
