The City of Albuquerque is gearing up to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of events taking place throughout the Metropolitan Area. These festivities, which will run from September 15th to October 15th, aim to honor and showcase the diverse cultures within the Hispanic community.

The theme for this year's Hispanic Heritage Month is "Todos Somos, Somos Uno: We are All, We are One." The celebrations will kick off on September 7th at Old Town Plaza with mariachi performances and remarks from Mayor Tim Keller. This event promises to be a family-friendly affair, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate.

A Citizenship Day Fair is also scheduled for September 15th at 714 4th Street SW. Organized by El Centro de Igualdad y Derechos, the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center, and the City's Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, this fair will offer information and workshops for those aspiring to become citizens.

Beatriz Valencia, the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs Liaison, emphasized the importance of Hispanic Heritage Month in bringing people together and celebrating their history and culture. She encouraged everyone to attend the events and take the opportunity to learn about the Hispanic community.

In addition to the fair, there will be a US Naturalization Ceremony at Villa Hispana on September 16th, celebrating individuals' journeys to citizenship. On September 17th, the City of Albuquerque will host a Job Fair at Casa Del Rey, providing opportunities across various City departments for both English and Spanish-speaking applicants.

These events are part of a larger celebration of Hispanic heritage in Albuquerque, highlighting the city's rich cultural diversity. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to participate and experience the vibrant traditions and contributions of the Hispanic community during this special month.
