Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy Bearce has provided enhancements and additions that benefit property taxpayers and county residents, including an updated property search website and the installation of a new automated teller machine (ATM) in the Alvarado Square building lobby, the county said in an Aug. 23 blog.

“I’m delighted to bring new, updated amenities to Bernalillo County residents and county employees,” the blog quotes her as saying. “Traditionally, government is thought of as using older technology that is standard in business. With these small changes, I can turn public perception and glide our community into the 22nd century!”

The Treasurer's Office upgraded its property record search platform by replacing a 15-year-old website with one that provides more flexibility for the Treasurer's Office to present additional information to the public. The upgraded features include updated property ownership data, a breakdown of tax distribution recipients, a choice to view a ten-year payment history with PDF printing options, convenient methods for property tax payments, and a tax estimate selection leading to the Bernalillo County Assessor's Office tax calculator, the blog says.

Bearce also collaborated with the Rio Grande Credit Union (RGCU) to introduce a new Credit Union Anytime ATM within the main office at 415 Silver Ave. SW. Operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., this ATM is available at no cost to RGCU and other credit union members, with charges applicable to non-credit union ATM transactions, the blog says.

Bearce has served the public in New Mexico since 1999, holding roles as a benefits manager and nonprofit executive. Her experience includes managing substantial employee health insurance programs for entities such as Albuquerque Public Schools and the State of New Mexico’s General Services Department, the county website says. She has also taken on leadership positions, including chairing the Albuquerque Neighborhood Task Force and founding the La Mesa Community Land Trust, the county said.
