A young rapper from Taos is committed to sharing his passion for music with those who care to listen.
Lorenzo Espinoza, better known as Lil Renzo to his followers, is currently writing and releasing his own music, which can be heard on several playlists around the world.
His library includes a song about his home state of New Mexico.
“Honestly, there’s no place like home at the end of the day,” Espinoza told KOB.
Espinoza’s interest began as a young man watching his father perform.
“My dad was actually a rapper at the time and he used to make beats on this program called 'FL Studio,'” Espinoza said. “I saw him do that one time at his house. I just thought it looked really fun, thought it looked good.”
Good enough to make it his own passion. Espinoza has dedicated more time and energy toward building his brand. He enjoys posting remixes of popular songs on social media, often adding his own flair to the classics.
“No matter what I’m doing, I am making music," Espinoza said. “Whether I’m a plumber or I’m working at a grocery store, I was making music for fun.”
Espinoza has faith that his talent and dedication will lead him where he needs to go.
“You just have to trust yourself and know that you are worth it and you’re worthy and you can do this,” he said.
