The Public Service Company of New Mexico helped families have a more enjoyable holiday season by donating to 14 food banks across New Mexico.

Food pantries shared the donations, totaling $150,000, in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, tribal communities, Ruidoso and Silver City. The assistance was provided by PNM shareholders. No customer funds were utilized, according to a KOAT report.

"Food banks provide a valuable and lifesaving service to many New Mexicans living in food-insecure households," Don Tarry, PNM’s resource president and chief operating officer. "PNM saw the need to step up and help people in our state who need it most."

Citing the significance of food banks, Tarry encouraged other businesses and individuals to support the state's food bank system.
