The people of Acoma Pueblo will soon have water again after the main water line failed more than a week ago, leaving residents and business in the pueblo without water.

The local health clinic, a dialysis center and a school were all closed during the water outage, according to KRQE. The governor of Acoma said the water line is repaired, but now wants the pueblo to conserve water until the tanks have time to refill.

“We are asking everyone to help us with refilling our water storage tanks, so please use limited water if you can,” Governor Randal Vicente told KRQE.

There is no timetable for when service will be fully restored. The main school in Acoma remains closed but classes are continuing online.
