PNM’s Elisha Saavedra-Torres is the winner of the 2022 ‘505 Rising Star Award.’
According to its website, the award, given by the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA), recognizes "an emerging leader who is contributing to economic development programs, projects and activities in a significant manner that leads to increasing investment in the community and job creation." Saavedra-Torres is the Manager of Business Development at PNM and a native New Mexican.
“It is an honor to be recognized in this way. Economic development is a team sport and I could not be successful in this role without the amazing support of my PNM team,” Saavedra-Torres said.
Saavedra-Torres was among several people who are being recognized by AREA for their work. The 505 awards will be given at the AREA’s annual dinner to take place on Nov. 17 at Sandia Resort. According to its website, this year’s theme is “Taking Flight” – a nod to the significant industry presence and opportunity for the region in aerospace and defense.
PNM says through Saavedra-Torres’ effort it has received two large business inquiries looking to relocate to New Mexico per week. PNM’s roots in New Mexico go back to the very first electric and gas operations in Albuquerque.
