MOTION: Voting Member Schwenker moved, seconded by Voting Member Bachechi, to approved as presented.

5. PRESENTATION

a. Presentation: Firefly Strategies presentation for proposed public engagement work to support the Women's Commission (Rubina Cohen)

Commission members had a discussion with Firefly strategies on next steps. Publicity and marketing was discussed – commissioners expressed interested in engaging the community on 1) what is already going on and 2) what is pressing needs and 3) what is being worked on in the community. Firefly strategies presented some options including surveying, social media outreach (to generate attention to the commissions work and policy) and using phone conversations as part of the survey.

6. ACTION ITEMS

a. Discuss and Approve: Motion to recognize and support Councilwoman Cassutt's efforts in increasing access to childcare (Vickie Gabin)

MOTION: moved, seconded by , to approved as presented.

Discussion was had about the early childcare presentation from Councilor Cassutt. Director Sanchez gave an update on ARPA funding to support job development in the early childcare field.

7. DISCUSSION ITEMS

a. Discussion: Report back from subcommitte work as discussed in April 12th meeting (Araseli Varela)

Subcommittee updates were discussed:

1. Networking/Engaging with Community Partners (Gloria and Catherine)

o Recommendations for webpage: logo, annual reports, create a calendar, basic facts, list members, newsletters, easy navigation.

o Recommendations for social media: facebook page, instagram, etc.

o Recommendations in print media: letter to the editor, promote women and girls publications, editorials, articles of interest, collateral. **Make sure items are accessible – bilingual, ASL, etc.

o Recommendations for radio and television: local radio – KBAC KTRC, KSW, public access on cable – Santa Fe Community Television

o Outreach and engagement with City engagement offices, city councilors, etc

o Create online survey to collect feedback

o Next Steps: Connect Commissioners with Office of Community Engagement

2. Support for Childcare (Olivia and Carla)

o Links on national resources and policies were shared

o Research on federal/state deadlines, how to get community voice into obligation deadlines

o Next steps: Need to know whats happening at the state level (ECECD)
