There's a new place in Farmington with a mission to provide a place for people struggling to overcome addiction a safe space to eat and chat with other people without the added social pressures in other environments.

It's called "Locke Street Eats" and includes food trucks, music and local art, according to KOB 4.

"When you're in addiction and you have a certain group of friends and you're trying to change your path, you don't know how to get back into society, and there isn't a lot out there to help you make friends and interact with people," William DuTremaine, co-founder of Cottonwood Clinical Services and "Locke Street Eats" organizer, told KOB 4.

Part of recovery is finding people who are on the same journey and avoiding situations that may lead to bad decisions. KOB 4 reported DuTremaine believes the venue offers a place where people can get to know one another.

He said "Locke Street Eats" isn't just for those in recovery, but also a place where the entire community can gather for good food, music and sober fun, according to KOB 4.

He told the news outlet there are a number of possibilities for the venue and he hopes it'll attract tourists and new entertainment acts.
