The University of New Mexico Women's Basketball Team's playoff dreams are still alive as the Lobos advance to the next round of tournament play after a close-call with San Diego Sunday.

"It obviously got a little more interesting than we wanted it to, you know late. But I'll say this, I give our kids credit, the last minute and a half I think we executed every single thing," Head Coach Mike Bradbury said during a press conference.

The release pointed out that the game remained close, with two ties and three lead changes just within the first quarter.

After the half, the Lobos started to push for a bigger lead and played good defense which kept San Diego from pushing ahead for the rest of the game, the press release stated.

Next up for the Lobos is Oregon State. According to the press release, the is the fifth time the Lobos have made it to the third round of the WNIT. The team also tied program history with 26 wins in a single season.
