A Santa Fe man is in quite a predicament due to a parking ticket snafu that he says may take months to rectify.

Mark Armijo told KRQE that he was frustrated after the Santa Fe Parking Division issued tickets to him when he had the proper permits to station his vehicle where he parked it.

“I had my loading zone displayed correctly, but I got a ticket right next to my loading zone, for not having my loading zone permit,” Armijo said.

Armijo has voiced his concerns with the department on numerous occasions and has been told to check back in five to six months "because nobody was in that position" to contact him about it. He also told the station he physically went down to the parking department during its hours of operation only to find out that they were not open.

According to KRQE, the City of Santa Fe reported that because of staffing issues at the department, tickets were taking longer than expected to process.

“I don’t get why they are giving tickets if they can’t even enforce it,” Armijo said.
