The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office had applied for a search warrant for actor Alec Baldwin's cell phone in relation to the shooting on the set of "Rust," but even now, the cell phone hasn't been turned in.

On Dec. 16th, 2021, Santa Fe Sheriff's Office applied for and was granted a search warrant for Baldwin's cell phone and the contents on the phone. A lead detective served the search warrant to Baldwin’s attorney and his attorney repeatedly acknowledged receiving the warrant.

Baldwin, however, posted on Instagram and said he was fully complying with all investigations into the incident. Baldwin's lawyer and Santa Fe's district attorney are negotiating consent to retrieve the phone due to concerns regarding changing jurisdictions.

"Any suggestion that I am not complying with requests or orders or demands or search warrants about my phone, that's bull****, that's a lie," said Baldwin in the video.
