Lobo’s women’s volleyball players Kaitlynn Biassou and Uxue Guereca were recognized by Mountain West coaches as being among the best in the Mountain West Conference Wednesday and selected to play for the All-Conference Team.
It's the second time Biassou has received that accolade and Guereca's first nod. It's also the first time in four seasons that UNM has had two players make all-conference, according to a release by the school.
Biassou— a junior and co-captain— finished second in the conference in terms of points, 290.5, and points per set, 4.40, in Mountain West matches. She likewise placed third in Mountain West for kills (252) and kills per set (3.82).

Guereca also earned her place among the best in the conference, registering 202 kills (an average of 3.21 kills per set), 154 digs (2.44 per set) and 236.0 points (3.75 per set). She finished out the conference hitting .275, the release states.
These stats placed the duo as the top two leaders on the team in kills and kills per set,. Biassou was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week twice overall, once as a result of the Mountain West competition, and Guereca was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week once, marking her first career offensive weekly award.
