While election results were still rolling in, the mayoral election race in Santa Fe appeared to be a landslide victory for incumbent Mayor Alan Webber.
The New Mexico Secretary of State reports that Webber received 55% of the votes so far, which amounted to 9,961 votes. In second was Joanne Vigil Coppler with 35% of the votes and third was Alexis Martinez Johnson with 10% of the votes.
According to Santa Fe’s government website, Webber is the city’s 43rd mayor and also the first full-time executive. He was first elected in March 2018 with 66% of the vote. The website says that his focuses include the economy; affordable housing; fighting the opioid epidemic; investing in the city’s youth and bringing the city together as a whole.
For city council position one, preliminary results have Signe Lindell as the winner with 61%. Brian Patrick Gutierrez was second with 20%, Joe Hoback was third with 13% and Roger Michael Carson was fourth with 7%. Position two was unopposed and Carol Romero-Wirth took the seat. Position three was too close to call but preliminary results had Lee Garcia with 53% and Roman Tiger Abeyta at 47%. Position four appeared to be won by Amanda Camille Chavez with 75% over Rebecca Romero with 25%.
For Espanola Public School District, school board board position one was too close to call between Katrina Martinez and Matthew Casados, who were both at 50%. Position two was unopposed and won by Brandon Bustos. Position three was also unopposed and won by Javin Coriz.
For Moriarty-Edgewood school board position four was also close but Linda Hudson had 56% while Rebecca King Spindle was at 44%. Position 5 was unopposed with Lyndsi Kay Donner, a write-in.
For the Pojoaque Public Schools, Susan Marie Rudolph Quintana was unopposed and took the seat for position four. Position five was still too close to call with Jerome narrowly leading with 52% over Sharon Dogruel with 48%.
