Head coach Jull Trujillo found "some bright spots" in the New Mexico University women’s golf team's sixth-place finish at the Molly Collegiate Invitational at Bayonet Gold Course.
Myah McDonald finished tied for 11th individually at 7-over for the Lobos after shooting an even-par 72 during the final round. The next-best overall finish for UNM came from Lauren Lehigh, who shot a 1-over 73 to finish at 14-over, according to a release.
As a team, the Lobos finished at 47-over for the event after shooting 300 on the final day of play.
“We had solid play today from Myah and Lauren,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “Although as a team we didn’t perform as well as we would have liked this week, there were some bright spots. It was a great finish from Myah.”
Stanford took first place at 14-over for the event, followed by both UCLA and San Jose State at 21-over.
