Lobos women's golf gets 'great finish' from McDonald, comes in 6th at Molly Collegiate Invitational

Head coach Jull Trujillo found "some bright spots" in the New Mexico University women’s golf team's sixth-place finish at the Molly Collegiate Invitational at Bayonet Gold Course.

Myah McDonald finished tied for 11th individually at 7-over for the Lobos after shooting an even-par 72 during the final round. The next-best overall finish for UNM came from Lauren Lehigh, who shot a 1-over 73 to finish at 14-over, according to a release

As a team, the Lobos finished at 47-over for the event after shooting 300 on the final day of play.

“We had solid play today from Myah and Lauren,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “Although as a team we didn’t perform as well as we would have liked this week, there were some bright spots. It was a great finish from Myah.”

Stanford took first place at 14-over for the event, followed by both UCLA and San Jose State at 21-over.
