Las Cruces Utilities (LCU) joined City of Las Cruces (City) Police and Fire Departments during the National Night Out (NNO) event on Tuesday, August 3. NNO gives residents an evening to meet neighbors and area first responders, along with City staff. LCU showed off its UtilityHawk Customer Portal and invited residents to sign up and walk through the system.
“The NNO provided a great opportunity to show how LCU is partnering with our community to help everyone be more aware about how much water and gas our customers use, with the UtilityHawk Customer Portal,” said Jeff Dillard, LCU business systems analyst. “This free service will allow you to monitor your usage, set alerts, and respond to unusual changes well before you receive what could be a very high bill otherwise.”
“It allowed us the opportunity to interact with our customers, who are our friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers and educate them about this great new tool that LCU is providing for free to assist in reducing monthly service costs for metered services and potential property damage,” said James S. Stafford, LCU management analyst. “Not only does UtilityHawk allow you to be water smart, it allows the customer with a registered account to pay their monthly bill while reviewing their consumption.”
LCU also hosted Doña Ana County interns who got a chance to see customer service at a large-scale event.
It was a wonderful opportunity to open up the City again,” said Rhonda K. Diaz, LCU Water conservation program coordinator. “With over 5,000 in attendance, it gave Water Conservation Program staff and DAC Interns the opportunity to experience public engagement educating the community with a Q&A game about water conservation best practices.”
LCU Customer Central can be reached at 575-541-2111 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. LCU provides services to approximately 100,000 Las Cruces residents and businesses.
