A majority of Americans lack confidence in Vice President Kamala Harris' ability to serve as president, according to a survey performed by the Trafalgar Group in collaboration with the Convention of States Action (COSA).
Of the 1,161 likely General Election voters surveyed, 63.6% stated they were not confident that Kamala Harris was prepared to be president, with 58.6% of that group stating they were "not confident at all."
"Our last poll found that most Americans don’t believe Joe Biden is actually running the country, and today we’re learning voters think Kamala Harris’ tenure as vice president has been a disaster, and she’s absolutely not ready to step in and take his place. Washington, D.C., has never been more radically out of step with the will of the American people than right now, ” Mark Meckler, President of COSA, stated on the organization's website.
While the poll results varied by party affiliation, they all indicated a significant lack of confidence in Harris, with 42.6% of Democrats, 88.4% of Republicans and 61.8% of independents or third-party members stating they were not confident in her ability to serve as president.
In the 2020 election, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris easily defeated Donald Trump and Mike Pence in New Mexico, according to the state's Secretary of State website, garnering 54% of the vote with 501,614 votes.
“Our message to America is this: Washington doesn’t care what you think," Meckler continued. "Get the attention of those who do. Make sure your governor, state representative, and local elected officials know where you stand. They can actually deliver for you, and will pay attention to your priorities.”
COSA is a grass-roots political organization with over 5 million supporters throughout the U. S. whose ultimate goal is to call an Article V Convention of the States to propose changes to the United States Constitution.
According to the organization's website, COSA advocates exclusively for changes that will limit the federal government's size and scope.
The Trafalgar Group is a public polling and market research company whose previous accuracy in polling has won them the title of 'most accurate pollster' in several national elections, according to its site.
