The New Mexico Film Office has announced a feature film called "Flamin' Hot," which follows the true story of a janitor who created Flamin' Hot Cheetos, which originated in New Mexico.

A press release from the New Mexico Film Office said the movie is set to be produced by DeVon Franklin from an original script by Lewis Colick and Linda Yvette Chavez, and will be directed by Eva Longoria under Searchlight Pictures.

"Everyone's favorite snack + New Mexico film & TV = perfection," Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham wrote in a tweet.

The movie depicts the story of Richard Montanez, a Frito-Lay janitor who in the early '90s developed Flamin' Hot Cheetos to reach the untapped Latino market by bringing Mexican-American heritage to Cheetos.

Production of the film will also include 204 crew members, 44 principal case members and 875 background extras. Cast members already set are Jesse Garcia and Annie Gonzalez, who will portray Richard and Judy Montanez.

Filming will begin in August 2021 in Albuquerque, according to the press release.
