New Mexico United announces initial roster moves ahead of 2026 season

New Mexico United has announced its first roster decisions as it prepares for the 2026 USL Championship season. The club confirmed that several key players will return, while others will not have their contract options renewed.

Players set to remain with the team include Zico Bailey, Talen Maples, Will Seymore, Greg Hurst, Valentin Noël, Chris Gloster, and Ousman Jabang. Dayonn Harris and Marlon Vargas will also return after the club picked up their contract options.

The club decided not to exercise contract options on Jaylin Lindsey, Gedion Zelalem, Thomas Amang, and Jackson DuBois. In addition, several players are out of contract entering the offseason. These include defenders Kipp Keller (whose loan has expired) and Jackson DuBois; midfielders Sergio Rivas, Carlos Moguel Jr. (loan expired), and Tomas Pondeca (loan expired); forwards Mukwelle Akale and Luther Archimède; as well as goalkeepers Alex Tambakis and Kris Shakes.

According to New Mexico United, "New Mexico United remains in active discussions with several out-of-contract players as the club shapes its roster for the 2026 season. These conversations reflect the organization’s commitment to continuity, building on its core, and fielding a competitive, cohesive team."
