A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday to announce a new initiative aimed at supporting education-to-career pathways for rural students in New Mexico. The collaboration involves the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, Eastern Area Workforce Development Board, Collegiate Edu Nation, and officials from the Loving, Mosquero, and Corona school districts.
This initiative marks the first statewide partnership of its kind in New Mexico. It is backed by $400,000 in funding and works in collaboration with the Rural School Collaborative. The program aims to integrate early education, P-12 instruction, higher education, and workforce development into a cohesive framework. This will be achieved through hands-on learning experiences, career exploration opportunities, and training for high-demand jobs.
