The International Space Hall of Fame Foundation (ISHFF) is now accepting nominations for the International Space Hall of Fame induction at the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo. The ISHFF, working with the Governor’s Commission to the Museum of Space History and in collaboration with the museum, seeks individuals who have significantly contributed to space exploration and knowledge.
The induction ceremony will be a highlight of the museum's 50th Anniversary Celebration in October 2026. Originally opened as the International Space Hall of Fame in 1976, it was renamed the New Mexico Museum of Space History in 2001, continuing its mission to honor space pioneers.
Nominations can be made under several categories: Achievement, Visionary, Pioneer, and Facilitator. These categories recognize significant accomplishments or lifetime achievements that have advanced space exploration or astronomical knowledge. Groups such as mission crews or research teams may also be nominated.
To nominate an individual or team, visit spacehalloffame.org by January 15, 2026. For more information on existing inductees, nmspacemuseum.org provides further details. Inquiries can be directed to cathy.harper@spacehalloffame.org.
