Western New Mexico University football players have received recognition for their performances in the Lone Star Conference postseason awards. Several Mustangs were honored for their contributions during the season, reflecting both individual achievement and progress within the program.

Freshman quarterback Connor Ackerley was named LSC Offensive Freshman of the Year and also earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. He started all 11 games, completing 253 of 397 passes for 2,999 yards and 30 touchdowns with a rating of 146.07. Ackerley’s performance included a seven-touchdown game that tied a conference record.

Wide receiver Deuce Zimmerman was selected to the First Team All-Conference after recording 44 catches for 676 yards and ten touchdowns in six games. His average of over 15 yards per catch highlighted his role as a key offensive threat.

Davey Morales joined Zimmerman on the First Team, posting 57 receptions for 762 yards and seven touchdowns across eleven games. Morales’ consistency made him a reliable target throughout the season.

On the offensive line, Daniel Gonzalez received Honorable Mention honors for his efforts in pass protection and run blocking. Jose Chavez also earned Honorable Mention, contributing strength and stability to the line.

Receiver Anthony Flores was recognized with an Honorable Mention after making 53 catches for 611 yards and nine touchdowns over eleven games. His playmaking ability added depth to the team’s receiving corps.

Defensive lineman Colten Swanson was given an Honorable Mention as well, finishing with 42 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two-and-a-half sacks this season.

“These honors reflect not just individual talent but a collective rising trajectory for the program,” according to Western New Mexico University Athletics. “As WNMU looks ahead, these recognitions offer more than just accolades: they're proof of progress, potential, and the foundation of a team ready to compete at a higher level.”
