Freshmen volleyball players Daphne Posthumus and Brynlee Barris have received postseason honors after strong performances in their first season with Western New Mexico University (WNMU). Both athletes played key roles on the Mustang front line during the 2025 season.

Daphne Posthumus was named to the All-Conference Second Team and also earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team. She finished her debut season with 280 kills, 115 total blocks, and 364 points. Her hitting percentage stood at .336 over 646 attempts. Defensively, she contributed 53 solo blocks and 62 block assists.

Posthumus had several notable games, including an 18-kill performance against Cameron on October 23 and a season-high of 20 points in the same match. Head Coach Geno Frugoli commented, "For a freshman to step in and perform the way Daphne did is remarkable. She exceeded every expectation we had, and to see her earn a spot on the All-Freshman Team and Second Team All-Conference is an incredible accomplishment. It's a testament to her work ethic and a great moment for her and our entire program."

Brynlee Barris received Honorable Mention for All-Conference recognition. She ended the year with 239 kills, 116 total blocks, 99 digs, and 345.5 points. Barris maintained a .290 hitting percentage with only 71 attack errors out of 579 attempts.

Coach Frugoli said about Barris: "As one of our captains, Brynlee set the standard all season. She earned this honor by consistently posting one of the top hitting percentages in the conference and being a dominant presence at the net with her blocking. We're extremely proud of her leadership and the effort she brought every single day."

Barris's standout performances included recording 15 kills at Adams State on November 5, achieving a season-high of 20 points against Texas A&M–Kingsville on October 4, as well as contributing defensively throughout the year.

Both players are expected to return next season with more experience after their impactful first year at WNMU.

Western New Mexico University competes in NCAA Division II as part of the Lone Star Conference.
