New Mexico United ends playoff run after loss to FC Tulsa

New Mexico United’s 2025 postseason ended with a 3–0 defeat to FC Tulsa in the USL Championship Western Conference Final on Saturday night. The match saw United start with high energy and strong defense, highlighted by goalkeeper Kris Shakes making several key saves early in the game.

FC Tulsa took the lead in the 39th minute after capitalizing on a mistake by New Mexico United. Despite efforts to equalize, including a shot from Dayonn Harris that hit the crossbar, United could not find the back of the net. Tulsa extended their lead in the second half with Taylor Calheira scoring his second goal in the 57th minute, followed by a third goal in the 76th minute.

The final statistics showed New Mexico United had five shots compared to Tulsa’s seventeen and did not register any shots on goal. United’s goalkeeper made four saves during the match.

Yellow cards were issued to Valentin Noël in the 43rd minute and Zico Bailey in the 73rd minute for New Mexico United.

Following this result, New Mexico United concludes its season, which included one of its most notable postseason performances.
