Western New Mexico men’s basketball releases full schedule for upcoming season

Western New Mexico University’s men’s basketball team has released its schedule for the 2025–26 season. The Mustangs will participate in two non-conference tournaments and play 20 Lone Star Conference games.

The team will begin with an exhibition game against Division I UTEP on November 7. The official season opener is set for the Conference Crossover tournament, hosted by Eastern New Mexico in Portales, where they will face New Mexico Highlands on November 14 and Fort Lewis on November 15.

The Mustangs are scheduled to travel to Durango, Colorado, for the Skyhawks Hardwood Classic hosted by Fort Lewis College. They will play Fort Lewis again on November 21 and Colorado Mesa on November 22.

Additional early road games include a trip to Nampa, Idaho, to compete against Northwest Nazarene. The first home game of the season is scheduled for December 20 against UT Dallas.

Conference play begins in January with games against West Texas A&M on January 2 and Eastern New Mexico on January 4. The team will play five more Lone Star Conference opponents at home during January.

In February, the Mustangs’ schedule includes six away games out of eight total matchups. Senior weekend is planned for February 19 against St. Edwards, followed by Senior Day on February 21 versus St. Mary’s. The regular season concludes with games at Lubbock Christian on February 26 and Midwestern State on February 28.
