The Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) volleyball team is set to play UT Permian Basin in a Lone Star Conference match on Saturday, Nov. 1. The game will take place at the Falcon Dome in Odessa, Texas, with a scheduled start time of 2 p.m. CST.

Sophia Valdez leads ENMU's offensive efforts this season, ranking third in the Lone Star Conference for kills with 282 and averaging 3.62 kills per set. She has also contributed defensively with 83 digs. Addison Bartlett has provided support as a two-way player, accumulating 159 kills and recording the second-highest number of digs on the team with 197.

Amya Speller plays a key role as middle blocker, tallying 124 kills and leading the team in blocks with 60.0 this season. Setter Violeta Flores has managed the offense by delivering 361 assists and serving up 18 aces so far. Defensive specialist Imahni Brown ranks seventh in the conference for digs per set at 4.47 and leads ENMU with 24 service aces.

Other contributors include Aaliyah Butler, who has added both kills and blocks throughout the campaign.

As a group, ENMU averages just over eleven kills per set but trails its opponents slightly in several statistical categories such as hitting percentage and assists per set. The Greyhounds have recorded over one hundred service aces, more than one thousand digs, and over one hundred twenty-eight blocks during the season.

Currently holding a record of four wins and nineteen losses overall—with only one win in conference play—ENMU aims to end a six-match losing streak after their recent loss to Angelo State last Friday. Their most recent victory came against New Mexico Highlands on October 13.

UT Permian Basin enters Saturday’s matchup with an eight-win, fourteen-loss record overall and stands at .500 within conference games. Ashley Macias leads UTPB offensively while Kyndall Torres anchors their defense.

In historical meetings between these teams, UT Permian Basin holds a lead of fourteen wins to eight over ENMU; ENMU last defeated UTPB on September 22, 2018.

After facing UTPB this weekend, ENMU will travel to Alamosa, Colorado for a non-conference match against Adams State on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
