Eastern New Mexico University's rodeo team is set to compete at the Texas Tech rodeo from October 30 to November 1. The event will see participation from 19 Greyhounds, with several student-athletes scheduled for multiple events over the three-day competition.

At their previous outing in Lovington, both the men's and women's teams secured fourth place among ten teams. Jacob Walters was named reserve all-around champion after earning points in team roping, steer wrestling, and tie down roping. Mackinzee Dermody received the same honor on the women's side for her performances in goat tying and breakaway. Other ENMU athletes also advanced in various events including steer wrestling, breakaway, and goat tying.

The roster for this weekend's rodeo includes Mackinzee Dermody, Shaeden Marr, Ali Terry for the women’s events; Cutter Pareo, Jacob Walters, Orran Hart, and Duncan Adamson will compete in multiple men’s events. The schedule lists different groups of competitors for each day of the event.

There is a special connection to Texas Tech University among members of ENMU's team. Head coach John Sharp holds both a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in interdisciplinary studies from TTU. Student-athlete Mackinzee Dermody earned her bachelor’s degree in management there as well. Jacob Walters previously competed for Texas Tech and advanced to several College National Finals during his time with the Red Raiders.
