New Mexico United forward Daniel Bruce has announced that the 2025 season will be his last as a professional footballer. This decision marks the end of a significant career with the club, where he became a key figure over seven years. "This club means so much to me — not because of the goals, assists, or even the wins, but because of the incredible people who make this club and this state so special," Bruce said.
Bruce joined New Mexico United in April 2019 and has since played 170 matches, scoring 17 goals and providing 21 assists. His influence on the team extends beyond statistics; he is known for his energy and commitment on the field. The 2023 season was particularly notable for Bruce, during which he achieved personal bests in goals and assists.
Beyond his contributions on the pitch, Bruce has been active in community engagements. He participated in around 90 events, including school visits and youth clinics, impacting nearly 7,000 individuals directly. Peter Trevisani, CEO and Majority Owner of New Mexico United, praised Bruce's dedication: "We will never have another Daniel Bruce," he said.
Bruce's final appearance for New Mexico United will be celebrated during their last regular-season match of 2025. Fans are encouraged to attend early to honor his contributions to both the club and community.
A press conference is scheduled for October 23, where Bruce will reflect on his career with New Mexico United.
