The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum will host the 11th annual HomeGrown: A New Mexico Food Show & Gift Market on November 22 and 23. The event is co-hosted with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) and aims to showcase food, beverage, and craft products from across the state.

HomeGrown will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 23. Admission costs $10 per vehicle, with the first 100 vehicles each day receiving a free shopping bag. Cash payment is encouraged.

Jeff Witte, New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture, stated, “NMDA is proud to once again co-host HomeGrown with the Museum. The event highlights the best of New Mexico’s food, beverage and craft products, and we’re excited to feature one of our newest chef ambassadors as she showcases creative ways to use local ingredients this holiday season.”

Chef Ambassador Becky Windels, representing NEW MEXICO—Taste the Tradition, will conduct food demonstrations during the event.

The market will feature about 60 vendors, mainly from New Mexico food and beverage companies, many of which are part of NMDA’s NEW MEXICO — Taste the Tradition / Grown with Tradition program. Attendees will be able to sample and buy products such as salsas, nuts, sauces, wine, crafts, art, and hand-made items, including Native American pottery and jewelry.

Food trucks will serve lunch both days. Vendors include Phil’s Gourmet Sauces, J.P.M’s Salsa, Old Barrel Tea Company, Lavender Farm, Cowboy Creations by RCR, Roots Ruidoso coffee, Worthington Pecan Farm, FOF Foods beef jerky, My Tia’s Crunchy Granola, Kinna’s Chile Products, New Mexico Sabor, and several New Mexico wineries offering samples and sales.

Doña Ana County 4-H members will sell decorated mini-Christmas trees and wreaths. Raffle tickets will be available for a drawing on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday morning, the Museum’s Ag Wagon education program will offer activities for children and families to learn about sheep and spinning wool bracelets.

Museum admission includes access to all exhibits. The facility, located at 4100 Dripping Springs Road in Las Cruces, is a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs and covers 47 acres, presenting the history of food production in New Mexico over the past 4,000 years through exhibits and demonstrations.

More information about the museum can be found at nmfarmandranchmuseum.org.
