Eastern New Mexico University's men's cross country team participated in the DBU Old Glory Gallop in Fort Worth, Texas, one of the largest meets of their season. The event included 44 programs, with nine teams from the Lone Star Conference. Eastern New Mexico finished 29th overall.

Assistant coach Keyanah Browning commented on the team's performance at such a large meet: "Being in this environment forced them to lay everything out on the line. They really pushed themselves and I think they did solid."

The team's top two runners achieved personal records during the competition. Freshman Eloy Serrano Borrego placed 101st out of 456 runners, finishing with a time of 25:56.36. Sophomore Thomas Aerdts completed his race in 27:52.46, placing him in the middle of the field.

Other members representing Eastern New Mexico included Jackson Gable (28:39.71), Emmanuel Hernandez (29:12.25), and Brian Norton (29:20.20).

Browning noted the importance of familiarizing themselves with the course ahead of future competitions: "Previewing the course lets us know what we need to work on and what parts of the course we may fall asleep on."

The team used this meet as preparation for the upcoming Lone Star Conference cross country championship, which is scheduled for October 25 at the same venue.
