New Mexico residents recently participated in a public hearing hosted by the Early Childhood Education & Care Department (ECECD) to discuss universal child care. The event aimed to gather input from community members on the future of early childhood services in the state.
The hearing provided an opportunity for families, educators, and advocates to share their perspectives on access, affordability, and quality of child care. Comments collected during the session will help inform ECECD’s planning and policy decisions regarding universal child care initiatives.
According to department officials, expanding access to early childhood education remains a priority as New Mexico continues efforts to improve outcomes for young children and working families.
