The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team was defeated 4-0 by St. Edward's University in a Lone Star Conference match held Wednesday at Al Whitehead Field at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, New Mexico.

St. Edward's took an early lead when Macy Jennings scored just 10 seconds into the game. The Hilltoppers extended their advantage to 2-0 less than three minutes later with a goal from Marie Hannedouche, assisted by Bailey Williams.

Hannedouche scored again in the 27th minute, giving St. Edward's a 3-0 lead at halftime. The Greyhounds struggled offensively and managed only one shot attempt during the match, which came from Louise Godden in the first half.

Eastern New Mexico University's defense faced ongoing pressure throughout the contest. Goalkeeper Kiley Patalan made five saves but allowed four goals. The match included several cautions; Faith Zint and Sophia Jeffres of ENMU each received yellow cards, as did multiple players from St. Edward's.

Ava Mauldin scored the final goal for St. Edward's in the 74th minute with an assist from Jisell Zavaleta Denova. By the end of play, St. Edward's had outshot ENMU 17-1 and earned five corner kicks compared to none for ENMU.

The Greyhounds remain winless this season and will travel to face Oklahoma Christian on October 11 as they continue their search for a first conference victory.
