On October 25, 2025, the New Mexico Museum of Space History will host an astronomy event titled "Wings & Water Star Party" in Alamogordo. The event is organized in collaboration with the Astronomy League and museum educators, aiming to offer visitors an opportunity to explore the night sky.
The evening begins at 7:00 PM with a planetarium show called “Wings and Water.” During this presentation, a museum educator will guide attendees through autumn constellations such as Pisces, Aquarius, Aquila, and Cygnus. Following the show, guests can participate in telescope viewing at the Museum Observatory Complex and observe demonstrations of deep-sky imaging. Local astronomers will provide large-screen displays of celestial objects captured during the night.
According to organizers, if weather conditions are unfavorable, the program will be moved indoors to the Tombaugh Dome and Planetarium. Parking for the event is available in the middle lot, with ADA parking located at the Hubbard Building. Restrooms will be accessible during the planetarium show but not afterward.
The New Mexico Museum of Space History is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. It showcases New Mexico’s role in the U.S. space program and houses both the International Space Hall of Fame and the New Horizons Dome Theater.
