Deb Haaland, a prominent political figure and former U.S. Secretary of the Interior, has used her social media platform to discuss her qualifications for office, voice concerns about children’s health in New Mexico, and encourage voter participation in local elections.

On October 6, 2025, Haaland posted on X: “Running on a people-powered platform, Haaland brings unmatched experience and resilience for the race...Haaland is positing herself as the most qualified candidate to confront New Mexico's challenges—and to stand strong against efforts to roll back progress under a potential”.

The following day, she addressed issues affecting children's health in the state. On October 7, 2025, she wrote: “Kids in New Mexico deserve to be healthy in their childhood and beyond. Trump's Health Secretary RFK Jr. threatens the well-being of our children by ignoring experts, cutting Medicaid, and limiting programs that ensure kids have healthy meals. As governor, I'll always defend New”.

Later that same day, Haaland encouraged early voting and highlighted infrastructure improvements for schools. In her post dated October 7, 2025: “Early voting for local elections starts today, and that means we can vote to approve funding for projects in our communities. If you live in Bernalillo County, a bond is on the ballot that will update school buildings to ensure they have A/C, proper heating, and infrastructure. I”.

Deb Haaland previously served as U.S. Secretary of the Interior from March 2021 until her resignation to run for Governor of New Mexico. She was one of the first Native American women elected to Congress and has been recognized nationally for her advocacy on Indigenous rights and environmental issues.
