Qunnect Inc. has announced the deployment of its Carina product suite at Montana State University (MSU) to establish the first quantum entanglement network in the Northwestern United States. This development is part of MSU's efforts to explore new applications for quantum networking and further strengthens its position as a leader in quantum innovation.

The Carina product suite serves as the backbone for Qunnect's GothamQ and Bearlinq quantum networks, which operate on commercial telecom fiber in New York City and Berlin, Germany. These networks have been instrumental in connecting government, national laboratories, university, and industry users.

According to Prof. Krishna Rupavatharam, CTO of QCORE at MSU, "Qunnect's technologies have given our students and researchers the infrastructure on which we can explore and innovate on quantum networks." He emphasized that access to photonic quantum networking technologies allows MSU to advance its quantum research more rapidly.

The Carina suite integrates several key components into a single unit: atom-based entangled-photon generators, single photon counting detectors with high-resolution time tagging, and adaptive polarization compensation. These features enable high-rate entangled pair generation over long distances and ensure stability under varying environmental conditions.

Noel Goddard, CEO of Qunnect, said that "Montana State is a leader in quantum research" and highlighted that the university has been using Qunnect technologies for groundbreaking experiments over the past year. The collaboration coincides with the launch of QCORE, a new initiative focused on quantum research and innovation at MSU.

This network aims to attract research funding, industry partnerships, and scientific talent to Montana while generating economic growth for the state.
