New Mexico United and the University of New Mexico Athletics are set to host the final "Fans Against Hunger" food drive this Saturday. This initiative, which began earlier in the season, aims to address food insecurity by uniting fans, communities, and food banks across New Mexico.
The upcoming event will provide fans with a last opportunity this season to contribute and support those in need. Donations collected during this match will be directed to The Community Pantry located in Gallup, New Mexico. Fans who donate five or more non-perishable food items will receive complimentary tickets to either New Mexico United’s home game against Detroit City FC on September 10 or the UNM Football home opener.
Donations can be made from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM in the tailgating area before the evening's match. According to a spokesperson for the campaign, "Fans Against Hunger" has facilitated collaboration between New Mexico United, UNM Athletics, and local food banks throughout the state. The initiative has organized supply drives at various tailgates and delivered essential items to families across numerous communities in New Mexico.
These efforts have had a significant impact by delivering donations to food banks serving multiple communities statewide. The campaign emphasizes harnessing collective community strength to foster a stronger and more compassionate future for New Mexicans.
