Janice Honeycutt Hering, who spent nearly a decade leading the Leadership, Education & Small Business programs at the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, is now focusing on academic research into leadership under high-risk uncertainty. As a PhD candidate, Honeycutt Hering is examining how successful leaders make decisions when faced with significant challenges.
During her time at the Chamber, she connected many executives through the Leadership Albuquerque program and worked to highlight important regional issues. The Chamber has expressed support for her new direction.
“Janice did a wonderful job leading our Leadership Albuquerque Program for so many years. We’re pleased to help her on her next leadership journey,” said Terri Cole, president and CEO of the Chamber.
Honeycutt Hering is currently seeking participation from founders, owners, and CEOs in Central New Mexico for her research. Eligible participants must hold equity in their business, operate within the four-county Central New Mexico area, have been in business since at least 2019, and reported revenues between $2 million and $100 million in 2024.
Participation involves two confidential interviews of 45 minutes each and a brief weekly audio journal documenting any high-risk decisions encountered. These activities are intended to be manageable for busy leaders.
Interested individuals who meet these criteria can contact Honeycutt Hering by email to take part in this study.
