New Mexico United lost 4-0 to Hartford Athletic on Wednesday night in an away match. Hartford’s Mamadou Dieng scored twice within the first 25 minutes, and Michee Ngalina added a third goal two minutes later. By halftime, United faced a significant deficit.
In the second half, New Mexico United tried to regain control but could not break through Hartford’s defense. Substitute Kyle Edwards scored Hartford’s fourth goal in the 82nd minute.
Despite the loss, New Mexico United goalkeeper Alex Tambakis became the first keeper to reach 650 saves in USL Championship history.
The team will travel next to Oklahoma for a match against FC Tulsa on Saturday, August 9 at 6:30 p.m. MT. They return home on Saturday, August 16 for Zozobra Night against Las Vegas Lights.
